The Hunt for Warmth Is Over

Merino Wool hunting socks are the best decision you can make outside of proper scouting. While they are knit to keep you warm, the way wool regulates with your body temperature, you’ll never be too warm. Even if you're packing your feet into rubber boots, the moisture wicking properties will keep sweat off your feet, and staying dry will keep you warm. And if you're at deer camp for the week, they are naturally odor resistant, so even if your party doesn't notice, you can appreciate the wildlife won't either.

Reviews

I’m tight but these socks are worth every penny.

"I bought these socks in preparation for a hiking trip to Utah. They worked out great. I wore both socks three consecutive days each. I detected no odor from day after day of wear and the comfort remained great. I was having some trouble with my hiking boots rubbing the inside of my foot and the extra thick cushion of the heavyweight socks worked out perfectly. The socks were shipped out quickly and the packaging was minimal. I can’t recommend these socks more highly. From now on the only socks I plan to wear for recreational purposes are the Darn Tough brand. Thanks for making a great product."

Skeptic turned Ambassador

"Incredible socks when every other piece of clothing failed to keep me warm or comfortable these socks saved the day. Incredibly comfy, incredibly tough, incredibly worth it. A friend was adamant that these socks would solve all my complaints of my last socks I was unconvinced till I tried them myself. Now I tell all my coworkers friends and strangers the same. If you’re not in love with your current socks then make the switch. You won’t turn back."

Great Socks for Every Hike and Hunt

"I’ve put the Darn Tough Men's Boot Heavyweight Hunting Sock through cold mornings, long hikes, and full days on my feet, and they’ve been outstanding. They’re warm without feeling bulky, and they regulate temperature better than most heavy socks I’ve tried—my feet stay comfortable instead of sweaty. The fit is dialed, so there’s no slipping or bunching, which means zero hot spots or blisters even after miles of hiking. Durability is where they really stand out—you can tell they’re built to last, and they still feel solid after a lot of wear and washes. Overall, they’re dependable, comfortable, and tough enough for serious use—easy 5 stars."

The Search Is Over

"I have a hot head and cold feet, I rely on Darn Tough all day long everywhere I go, without worries of socks going cold and icky halfway through a warm day or a chilly night. I get a size up on all socks to avoid constriction, old people problems, and essentially live in Darn Tough Socks, I sleep in them too, beats wearing three pairs of inferior socks and still being cold; yet they are never too hot. For my needs nothing beats the heavy cushion and all temperature comfort of these heavyweight socks, the lighter ones have their place, but these suit me perfectly all year round. I'd hate to be away from home and get in a wet feet situation and not have the reliable warmth and comfort of Darn Tough Socks, and if I can't get home in a hurry, these won't demand washing and drying in difficult conditions just to be endurable. Anything short of quality merino wool socks are essentially a sad subscription service that will never live up to the hype or the cost, and if times get hard lesser socks will leave people cold and bare. All socks should be so wonderful! It's a shame it took me so long to discover them!"

Very comfortable. Full padding helps

"Very comfortable. Full padding helps with stiff mountain boots. They may save me from replacing the insoles of my new boots."

Best socks

"Pretty easy review. Best fitting, most comfortable, best made socks I’ve ever had. Perfectly warm. Cushy and cosy like a dream. Lifetime guarantee can’t be beat. Sam Vimes was right about boots, and these folks are right about socks: buy the good ones once, not the bad ones may times."

Olivier S. (5/5)

Fantastic socks, best ones I’ve ever had

"They are comfortable and durable, and with a lifetime warranty it’s a great investment"

perfection

"10/10. My only note, please make them in men's small. Or please just make them in more colors and sizes. The line of hunting socks are the most comfortable socks I have EVER owned. I will buy them in about every color they come out in. I am a buy-it-for-life person and these socks are it."

Q&A

What is the difference between the hunting and mountaineering socks (1953 vs. 2101)?
Hi Kevin! The Men's Boot Heavyweight Hunting Sock has a material composition of 79% Merino Wool, 19% Nylon, 2% Lycra® Spandex, vents on the top of the foot for added breathability, and is approximately 11" tall from heel to cuff. The Men's Mountaineering Micro Crew has 70% Merino Wool 28% Nylon 2% Lycra® Spandex, and is approximately 8.5" tall from heel to cuff.🧦
I'm a field mechanic working outside for 10 to 16 hours a day. Winter time and steel toe boots will ruin your day quickly do these hold up and help keep your ties from freezing all day?
These will work great! You can also check out the T4033 and T4050 tactical socks, as other Heavyweight/Full Cushion options to try.🧦
How thick are these socks? I bought a pair of Ugg boots for winter and I need thick sock because their width is d, but my feet fool loose in them.
We don't have an exact measurement of thickness for our socks, however this particular style will fill out your Ugg boots fantastically. You can also check out the Men's Mountaineering Micro Crew Heavyweight Hiking Sock as another option to try! 😊
Hi I'm really concerned about warmth while sitting it a tree stand for many hours with out moving, how do they hold up?
Hi Mark, thank you for reaching out! This Hunter Boot Heavyweight sock is an excellent choice to keep you warm while staying stationary up in a tree stand. They hold up very well and have great durability due to their heavy yarn weight cushioning.
