Unrivaled Durability

We make one thing, and we make it better than anyone else – ask any thru hiker and you will likely hear the same. In order to unconditionally guarantee a hiking sock for life, it must be durable. It must maintain its comfort, and it has to fit for miles upon miles on-trail. The socks that do return through warranty inform how we can improve. And we do. Our guarantee is a promise to you, but it’s a standard for us. We have yet to produce our best sock, but we get better with every step.

Reviews

Great company, Great mtn peak design, fit, feel

"American made and owned - love it - keep it up! Great fit on 9. 5 mens foot. Comfortable, with a medium thickness that should hold up longer, too. Mtn peaks design super cool with nice colors, soft thread stitching, and sweat wicking /odor absorbing miracles. Next order will repurchase same, my highest review compliment. These were a warranty pair and Darn Tough is a darn great company for customer support and product feel, mtrl, and design."

Perfect

"The socks are exactly what I wanted. Good for warmer weather. Like all Darn Tough socks I've had, they are the best fitting and longest lasting by far. I am reluctant to take advantage of the Lifetime warranty because socks should wear out. However, in the rare occasions where it seemed that failure was possibly a flaw in the material that caused premature problems, Darn tough has been great at issuing replacements."

GEORGE R. (5/5)

Darn nice socks

"I love the snug fit, especially around the ankle, the extra toe room and the nice look and colors. I hike several times a week and only wear darn tough socks that stand up to that use. I have recommended these socks to fellow hikers and a couple have obtained your socks and expressed their happiness with them."

Thomas L. (5/5)

First purchase didn’t disappoint

"Perfect fit and they work as a nice all around sock. I’m not a big hiker but enjoy many other outdoor actives and enjoy the socks even just for days that I’m chilling out or working. Really enjoy the design"

Max M. (5/5)

Good to go!!

"I am just an old guy who has over 50 years experience hiking and running (training for races). I think I have tried just about every brand of socks made. Since switching to Darn Tough a few years ago, I haven’t worn any other brand. The only socks in my drawer are Darn Tough. Best socks for every occasion all year round period!!"

Fred N. (5/5)

Greats socks , costly warranty

"Love your socks!! Only socks I wear. Hate your warranty. Not paying $17. 00 to ship $ 23. 00 socks. This pair arrived damaged. Threw them away. I will buy many more!! Still love the socks!! Highly recommend!!! Buy for the great sock not the costly warranty, the socks are worth every penny."

Guy K. (5/5)

Simple and honest

"Super comfortable socks especially for being on your feet 10-12 hours a day. Keeps my feet warm and completely dry compared to my older socks. After one wash they fit really snug and perfect to my feet! These are my go to socks everyday now, no complaints!"

Julian V. (5/5)

Yosemite.

"I just hiked 50 miles in Yosemite National Park in these Darn Tough socks paired with my Oboz boots. No blisters or hot spots. I prefer them over SmartWool brand. Great product."

Daniel P. (5/5)

Best Hiking Socks

"I've now purchased 6 of these socks for hiking. I'm training for a 500 mile hike, so I appreciate the durability & comfort and want to make sure I always have a pair available. Happy to support a great product made in the USA!"

James H. (5/5)

Stopgap solution, needs a full cushion variant.

"Bought as a stopgap for summer months as DT doesn't make full cushion midweight quarter socks. Feel is good, works well with daily usage. I find that the top of the ankle feels uncomfortable when i first put them on, then gets better over the day. Visual design is nonetheless excellent. The standard cushion is acceptable. However I prefer the full cushion on DT's boot height, full cushion, midweight socks for longer term/all day performance Recommend to DT to develop full cushion, midweight, quarter height socks similar to their boot height ones."

Q&A

How do they run as far as fit
Our socks are designed to have a snug, performance fit to stay in place and prevent hot spots and blisters.
Are these socks tough enough to be use in a normal washing machine and normal dryer machine? Should I be concern that it might strink because I read on Amazon review it does.
We recommend washing your Darn Tough socks in cold or warm water and either line or tumble drying on low to no heat. Don't be alarmed if they come out of the wash looking smaller than when they went in. Much like a pair of jeans, there is a fabric recovery period where the socks stretch out a little to fit your feet again. While standard detergent is fine, it's best to stay away from fabric softener, Oxyclean, and bleach. If your socks start to feel like they aren't as soft as they once were, it can help to wash them with a specific wool wash/detergent like Eucalan or Nikwax. Laundering inside out also helps fluff up the cushion layer which can flatten over years of use.
