Unrivaled Durability

We make one thing, and we make it better than anyone else – ask any thru hiker and you will likely hear the same. In order to unconditionally guarantee a hiking sock for life, it must be durable. It must maintain its comfort, and it has to fit for miles upon miles on-trail. The socks that do return through warranty inform how we can improve. And we do. Our guarantee is a promise to you, but it’s a standard for us. We have yet to produce our best sock, but we get better with every step.

By Far My Favorite Socks

"I have been wearing Darn Tough for about a year now, and they are by far my favorites. I bought three new designs this year. My wife loved the new design so much that she had me order her a pair. By far our family favorites. The fits is perfect, and with enough padding to keep my feet comfortable for those long walks. While they have a replacement guarantee, even my sharp toenails have not broken through these socks. I had to darn my old brand after about a month. These socks are showing no signs of wear and tear."

Great for all hiking.

"Best hiking socks I have ever used. They are a tiny bit different this year, but so far, so good. The toe box was a little more squared, like they changed the last or the cut/sewing method, but it has not caused discomfort and functions exactly the same. I use these for any length of hike, usually 2 pairs works for multiple weeks. Wash one, wear one. All day, every day."

Great socks

"These Darn Tough socks are the best socks I have ever purchased. I wear them daily for work in Texas. All year long. I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day, so the fact that they pull the sweat away from my feet helps get me through the day with less fatigue. I would 100% recommend these socks for anyone needing reliability on those long hard days that you have to be on your feet out in the elements."

Never a disappointment or even a question — Darn Tough socks are the bomb.

"Darn Tough socks continue to be absolute champions. The Quarter Socks are my new favorites — super easy to pull on and off, even for an old guy who’s earned the right to appreciate convenience. Whether fresh out of the package or worn for years, they always feel amazing. These socks just don’t miss."

Love these socks

"I have been wearing these socks since 2018 and multiple pairs over 1500 miles in Spain on the Camino de Santiago. I love the comfort, ease of care and fit."

Michael M. (5/5)

Great socks for summer months

"I wanted a pair of lower cut socks to wear during the warmer months. So far these socks have been great - they are my go-to for mountain biking. They fit very well, and don't make my feet feel clammy."

Socks that rock!

"Probably the best socks available today. Nicely crafted, comfortable, and eye-catching designs. The lifetime warranty is a plus not offered by other manufacturers. The socks fit well and are often the subject of compliments from friends."

Q&A

How do they run as far as fit
Our socks are designed to have a snug, performance fit to stay in place and prevent hot spots and blisters.
Are these socks tough enough to be use in a normal washing machine and normal dryer machine? Should I be concern that it might strink because I read on Amazon review it does.
We recommend washing your Darn Tough socks in cold or warm water and either line or tumble drying on low to no heat. Don't be alarmed if they come out of the wash looking smaller than when they went in. Much like a pair of jeans, there is a fabric recovery period where the socks stretch out a little to fit your feet again. While standard detergent is fine, it's best to stay away from fabric softener, Oxyclean, and bleach. If your socks start to feel like they aren't as soft as they once were, it can help to wash them with a specific wool wash/detergent like Eucalan or Nikwax. Laundering inside out also helps fluff up the cushion layer which can flatten over years of use.
