"I used these socks at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. 40+ miles on horseback over 5 days naturally in cowboy boots and blue jeans. These over-the-calf-length socks provided comfort and protection from the seams of my jeans rubbing against my calves. The extra cushion and wool material combined to keep my feet dry in spite of pretty impressive heat. What's more, the socks did not seem to retain any foot odor at all. Between the horseback riding and additional hiking (sans cowboy boots), we easily surpassed the 50 miles to obtain the so-named award. Twelve days total, three pairs of socks, and comfy, healthy feet."

"Love darn tough socks; first got them from the military and have used them ever since. Wife’s feet have been cold with this cold snap so got these heavyweight ones for her in the snow. They shipped and were received in about a day which is insane. Like all their products they’re really well done and fee high quality. She’s been wearing them around the house and the cushion has been helpful to avoid any discomfort from being on her feet. The long size really helps keep warm layering for the cold."

"I really love these socks. I bought them to wear under my brace after knee surgery. I wear medium socks, but I chose to buy these in small for a more snug fit. They are comfortable and not overly tight. The compression has helped with swelling. I do like some color on my socks (but not neon bright pink or purple). The burgundy is pleasantly deep and contrasts well with the gray top, toe, and heel. Darn Tough gets bonus points for the surprise when you roll the top down. It says "Still hunting" right side up so you can read it!"
