Way too tight

"I ordered several different styles of XL Micro Crew Midweight socks and all fit but this style. The CoolMax have almost no stretch to them and feel like a compression bandage. After struggling to get them on, I hoped they would stretch a bit during my drive to the job site, but after arriving, my right foot hurt and had lost most of the blood flow to it and I had to change into a back-up pair of socks I keep in my bag. I have a size 13 foot, do not wear wide shoes, and weigh ~170 lbs. I like the other styles but cannot recommend the CoolMax, unfortunately. Some reviewers seem to love them, so maybe there is batch inconsistency issues or they have super narrow/smaller feet."

Tight for wide feet!

"I ordered 4 pairs and I have several other styles of Darn Tough, however these are way too tight for my wide feet! This brand is good so instead of sending them back, I just gifted them to a friend. He reports back that they are great. He it the guy that still wears cotton socks in the field! Hopefully he'll convert"

Good for a day hike, but not for multi-day treks (

"I spend several days at a time in the mountains, usually hiking about 30 km a day. I tried these Coolmax socks on my last trip, but unfortunately, after just 3 days of use, I developed blisters. This is highly unusual for me, as I normally use the 100% Merino Wool socks from this brand and have never gotten a blister with those. Because of my experience, I am returning these Coolmax socks and going back to buying the full Merino wool versions. Overall, if you are only using these for a single day hike, they are probably great. However, if you are planning to use them for multi-day hikes with high mileage, I do not recommend them. Stick to the Merino wool!"

Which socks are best for constant “4-6 days”of rain on trail ? I’ve heard two pair of thin nylon socks. What is your opinion. There’s no right answer just FYI.

I am looking for a sock with main purpose of keeping feet dry, slipping and staying up while working. In addition to something to prevent the sweating and smell! Would this be an appropriate sock or is there a better one to try?
