My go-to hiking socks. They

"My go-to hiking socks. They feel great even after 15+ miles and pair perfectly with my La Sportiva Ultra Raptor 3s. They stay in place, manage moisture well, and don’t cause hot spots or bunching. My only complaint is that they can feel a little warm on hot summer hikes, but overall they’re comfortable, durable, and my first choice for hiking."

Great company, Great mtn peak design, fit, feel

"American made and owned - love it - keep it up! Great fit on 9. 5 mens foot. Comfortable, with a medium thickness that should hold up longer, too. Mtn peaks design super cool with nice colors, soft thread stitching, and sweat wicking /odor absorbing miracles. Next order will repurchase same, my highest review compliment. These were a warranty pair and Darn Tough is a darn great company for customer support and product feel, mtrl, and design."

Perfect

"The socks are exactly what I wanted. Good for warmer weather. Like all Darn Tough socks I've had, they are the best fitting and longest lasting by far. I am reluctant to take advantage of the Lifetime warranty because socks should wear out. However, in the rare occasions where it seemed that failure was possibly a flaw in the material that caused premature problems, Darn tough has been great at issuing replacements."

Best socks.

"Darn Tough and Darn Comfy. I use them on my feet. :) If I need to write too much in a review I won't write it. My review actually ends after the word comfy and all of the rest of this is me just typing until the computer has deemed that I have written enough. I mean really, they are socks, what else do you want to know? They will replace them if you wear em out! Please now just let me post this review."

Perfect balance of cushion and breathability for everyday wear AND working out

"I bought these not to hike in, but for running, walking, playing volleyball, and just every day wear with trainers. I have tried the running socks (both in light- and midweight) and the lightweight hiking socks. They are really good sooks. . . . . , BUT, I find the midweight hiking socks to have better cushioning without being overly hot or unbreathable. They strike the perfect balance for me. I am tall/big guy who is rough on socks and shoes and also a heavy sweater. The fact that these socks breathe while staying cool enough is a huge deal for me. No other brand/blend is able to do that for me. This is why I have 11 pairs of these socks (and counting)."

Daniel G. (5/5)

Excellent hiker

"I know 'socks are socks, who cares' but I've been moving towards merino wool socks for years now and I came across darn tough and got a few pairs. Initial ones I owned were a little stiff which made them. . . tough. . . But also tough to get on. The latest pairs I picked up, however, have more stretch but retain that merino odor protection and comfort. The cuff is high enough to prevent dings on my medial malleolus from my aggressive trail runners, but low enough to quickly shed them when it's time to soak in the mountain lake."

Darn nice socks

"I love the snug fit, especially around the ankle, the extra toe room and the nice look and colors. I hike several times a week and only wear darn tough socks that stand up to that use. I have recommended these socks to fellow hikers and a couple have obtained your socks and expressed their happiness with them."

The Real Deal, Won't Buy Socks From Any Other Brand Now

"Perfect everyday socks for anything you can think of. Great for lounging at home or for walking 20k+ steps. Perfect fit and you can literally feel the quality of the seamless stitching & cushion on your feet. Most important part is they never smell and breath very well. Taking care of them is easy, just wash with cold water and dry on low. I have other pairs of Darn Toughs from over 5 years ago that are still holding strong. I've gotten rid of every other sock I own and swear by Darn Tough socks only now."

First purchase didn’t disappoint

"Perfect fit and they work as a nice all around sock. I’m not a big hiker but enjoy many other outdoor actives and enjoy the socks even just for days that I’m chilling out or working. Really enjoy the design"

Max M. (5/5)

Good to go!!

"I am just an old guy who has over 50 years experience hiking and running (training for races). I think I have tried just about every brand of socks made. Since switching to Darn Tough a few years ago, I haven’t worn any other brand. The only socks in my drawer are Darn Tough. Best socks for every occasion all year round period!!"

Q&A

How do they run as far as fit
Our socks are designed to have a snug, performance fit to stay in place and prevent hot spots and blisters.
Are these socks tough enough to be use in a normal washing machine and normal dryer machine? Should I be concern that it might strink because I read on Amazon review it does.
We recommend washing your Darn Tough socks in cold or warm water and either line or tumble drying on low to no heat. Don't be alarmed if they come out of the wash looking smaller than when they went in. Much like a pair of jeans, there is a fabric recovery period where the socks stretch out a little to fit your feet again. While standard detergent is fine, it's best to stay away from fabric softener, Oxyclean, and bleach. If your socks start to feel like they aren't as soft as they once were, it can help to wash them with a specific wool wash/detergent like Eucalan or Nikwax. Laundering inside out also helps fluff up the cushion layer which can flatten over years of use.
